Introduction setting up a environmental monitoring system for waste dump places

With a internet based solution you can set up a international/national or regional monitoring system in hours. In this demo, monitoring waste dum places, each participant is able to define his own series of observations, sample's (runcontrol) taken and instruments used. Other set up's are possible to, you can use the service in a central controlled set up or a complete decentralized setup. You can create your own group and the creator of the group is the contact person for the ballot committee for membership authorization, contact us for details at VisionFactory@VisionFactory.nl. To prevent duplicate work and errors each participant is able to use predefined test method's. You can logon into the demo using the predefined username's or register and start your own monitoring group. In the demo are 3 participants monitoring each his own "Waste dump place". Two test matrixes are defined : metals and Benzeen, Ethylbenzeen, Styreen, Tolueen, Xyleen. You are able to select a data entry template, enter data, validate data and perform selections, down load to your workstation and generate charts and statistical reports. In case you enter data please use the log file to estimate a valid range. (between 1.0 and 1.9). You are able to customize your own private group to a complete monitoring system or proficiency testing service. Contact us for additional information At VisionFactory@VisionFactory.nl

How it is setup (decentralized)

In this case we have it setup as a self serving group. Each member has a maximum of freedom to define his own serie of observations, testmethod (measurements taken), sample taken and instrument used. Each sample taken is analysed by a laboratory and the data is entered by the participant in a international accessible database and the data can be analyzed and you can break down the information according to the co-factors. To make live easy the co-factor database contains predefined test methods and instruments. Participants share the cofactor database and by selecting the test method and instrument used to the data entry template a very quick setup is possible. The shared co-factor database functions as a repository. Users can use and add items to the repository preventing duplicate definitions and data entry errors. In this decentralized set up the product catalogue is not used. You are able to set up a catalogue with predefined data entry templates. In such a set up users are able to order a template and only after your confirmation the template is distributed to the user.

Naming conventions in the demo:

-The users are named ECN1 ECN, ECN2 ECN ECN3 ECN etc
-The (time)serie's are named : Waste dump place 1, Waste dump place 2, Waste dump place 3 etc View (time)serie's
-User ECN1 ECN is using (time)serie Waste dump place 1, ECN2 ECN is using place 2, etc. A user can create his own named (time)serie
-The test method's are named : GAS Mak cluster 1, GAS Metalen cluster 1,Mak cluster 1,Metalen cluster 1 View testmethod,
-the testmethod reprecent the test matrix, currently the Metalen cluster 1 is used for all (time)series. Test methods are defined by the organizer
-The sample's taken are named : ECC1 Sample 1, ECC2 Sample 1, ECC3 Sample 1etc View sample/runcontrol's
-Each takes his own sample from the wast place and is able to add the sample identification to the co-factor database
-The instruments used are named : View instrument's
-Each user can select a instrument from the pool in the co-factor database or add a new instrument he she is using

You are able to perform data entry operations, validate the data, make selections, generate a multicentre control charts or performance charts, download a selection to your workstation, create a new data entry template. Please after login use the Help getting started also located in the midle top of the home page to get used to the service.

Options

As a option you are able to build a catalogue containing predefined data entry templates. A participant can order a template he need from the catalogue you created. As a variant each user can create his own catalogue etc
Environmental demonstration

You are able to access a demonstration in the field of monitoring samples taken from waste dump places by a international group of laboratories.

Predefined usernames and passwords

User name : ECN2 ECN, Password : ECN2ECN (All case sensitive)
User name : ECN3 ECN, Password : ECN3ECN

Note: There is a difference between the password and username the password has no space between ECN(n) and ECN

You are able to perform data entry operations, validate the data, make selections, generate a multicentre control charts or performance charts, download a selection to your workstation, order a new data entry template. Please after login use the "Help getting started" located in the midle top of the page to get used to the service.

The only requirements at the client site are a PC and a standard web browser. No additional software at the client site is necessary. The services is designed for a 17" monitor resolution 1024 by 768 and tested with internet explorer version 4 and netscape navigator version 3 and higher the only thing you need is a internet connection and a 28 kb modem or higher. The extreme low requirements of using this service makes it possible to use this service in the developing countries to.

This group is setup according a self serving community. A participant applies for membership of the group and if the participant is accepted as a member he is able to create a data entry template with a named (time)serie for his own observations. He is able to select a test method out of the cofactor database or he can define his own test method. Each participant is able to define the sample (runcontrol ) taken defined by participant code, catalogue name and lotnumber in the cofactor database.

As a first step you create a template out of the co-factor database and next you update the template with the basic information like testmethod, runcontrol or artifact and instrument used. You do this by searching the co-factor database for the occurrence of the testmethod already defined by the organizer. You share the co-factor database with all other users of your group. In case the testmethod exist you select the testmethod and assign the value to the data entry template else you create a new testmethod in the cofactor database and select the testmethod and assign the value to the data entry template. As a result the shared co-factor database contains all the created testmethod's and all the created and used runcontrol's including the lotnumbers and all instruments used including the serial numbers. As a fourth step you update the fields like date and all other optional values and save the template. The sample's are taken every month and this is set in the date option field. As a result the date is changed after each data entry operation to the next month. As a fifth step you recall the data entry screen by clicking the appropriate link and you are able to perform the data entry operations and perform the statistical operations.

Data entry

If you start the data entry operations all fields with the exception of the sample/runcontrol identification and the spece for the measurment values are already filled in. The only values you have to supply are the sample identification and the found value's of the measurments. In case you need support e-mail us at : support or use the Help for detailed step by step instructions.

Please after login using your predefined user name inspect the log using the View log You will find the data entry records already in the system and you can use the range of the measurements. Use the Help lessons to get used to all the basic functions.

Note
For security you can only perform a data entry operation if you have data entry key's. Before you start with your data entry operations you order a set of data entry key's from the product catalogue free of any charges. Only after you received the data entry key's you are able to perform the data entry operations. The demo with predefined user names have the key's already delivered.

Adding the sample (runcontrol), instrument to the co-factor database
.
In case you take a new sample from your waste dump place you must update the basic information in the template you are using.
You create a new sample (runcontrol) item in the cofactor database and select the item and assign the value to the data entry template In case you take a new sample according the same method you only change to lotnumber. Incase you change the way you take the sample you also have to change the catalogue name or number. As a result the shared co-factor database contains all the samples taken including the catalogue number and lot numbers and all instruments used including the serial numbers. You can use the date as part of the lotnumber.
